Apron from Vintage Security Broiler Ration Feed Sack Apron

This vintage broiler chicken feed sack has a bright and fun design!

"Security Broiler Ration" reads the main portion of the apron, along with a design of a dressed chicken cooking on a spit. The design and words are in beige on a blue background rectangle (with angled corners). The rest of the sack design features red horseshoes placed upside down on the beige background.

Some of the words on the rest of the sack are printed onto the horseshoe pattern, while others are in smaller blue boxes. From top to bottom, the front reads:

The sack is made from a looser woven fabric. There are several pulled spots that may eventually turn to holes with frequent washing. There were two holes that I have repaired with fabric patches made from the unused portion of the sack (last photo). The apron sides, which you really cannot see, are created from another plain beige feed sack. This sack fabric is actually more tightly woven than the apron front fabric. Red trim is used for the neck and waist ties.

The apron waist is 29 inches.
The length is 34 inches.
The bodice is 12 inches.
The ties are 29 inches.
This one-of-a-kind apron best fits sizes women's sizes medium or large. Please check measurements to adjust for men's sizing.

Cold water wash and line dry are recommended to prevent fading and shrinking.
To adjust the length, simply place a knot in the neck ties where desired.

* Please keep in mind this apron was created from an authentic vintage cloth sack. Photos show the design and print darker than in actuality. While the apron is described as accurately as possible, due to the vintage quality there may be age marks not noted specifically. Also, finding some or many seeds or feed pieces caught in the fabric is quite common. The bags have been washed at least once and many seed/feed pieces have already been removed, but some may remain.
