Taken from a 1901 Carnation evaporated milk can label, the reproduction fabric panel chosen for this apron reads "Contented Cow Give Sweet Milk."
These words are at the bottom of the panel. The fabric background is dark beige.
The main design shows a black and white Holstein cow wearing a first place ribbon with the words "Blue Ribbon" shown above in royal blue print with red outlining. This section of the fabric also has the words "100 Percent Pure and Sweet" to the bottom right of the cow, and "All American Brand" written vertically on the sides.
Above and below the cow image is a checkerboard pattern in dark red, interspersed with royal blue hearts. Below this is the contented cow wording, as well as "Concord Trade Marks Reg. U.S.A. Pat. Off. 1359," all in royal blue.
Vintage red and white gingham fabric was added to each panel side to help create the apron. Although this feature is not apparent from the front, you can see the contrast in the last photo. The apron trim and ties are in dark red. To adjust the length, simply place a knot in the neck ties.
The apron bodice is 13 inches.
The waist is 29 inches.
The length is 32 inches from the top center of the bodice to the hemline.
The waist ties are each 30 inches.
This apron best fits sizes large or extra large.
