The classic Fulton Seamless feed sack is noticeable because of the eagle sitting atop the company logo -- perfect for a great apron.
The logo features the words Fulton Seamless surrounding the letter A. All are inside lines make a circle. Underneath are the words Extra Heavy. The bag used for this apron has darker vertical stripes than most. Cotton webbing was used for the neck strap and the waist ties. Cold water wash and line dry are recommended to prevent fading and shrinking.
The apron does have several issues, including general stains as are typical of this age of sack and some darker spots here and there. In particular, six area of dirt marks definitely are noticeable. There also are dirt marks where the bag was folded, as well as a water stain. There is a large area of machine stitching at the apron top. Please consider all of these factors before purchase.
The bodice width is 14 inches.
The waist is 35 inches.
The length is 36 inches from the top bodice center to the hemline.
The waist ties are each 51 inches.
Please use measurements to determine size. This apron was designed for men, but many women like to purchase these sturdy aprons. It is larger than similar aprons.
According to the Georgia Institute of Technology, Fulton Seamless was founded in 1872 in Atlanta, growing to other sites in the area. Additional plants were added later in New Orleans, St. Louis, New York, Dallas, Minneapolis and Kansas City. The company was sold in 1960 but the original Elsas family owners stayed in control of the Fulton Cotton Mill in Atlanta until 1968. That mill finally closed in 1978.
* Please keep in mind this apron was created from an authentic vintage cloth sack. Photos show the design and print darker than in actuality. While the apron is described as accurately as possible, due to the vintage quality there may be age marks not noted specifically. Also, finding some or many seeds or feed pieces caught in the fabric is quite common. The bags have been washed at least once and many seed/feed pieces have already been removed, but some may remain.
