Hubbard's Sunshine was the brand name of the egg laying supplement once contained in the vintage feed sack.
The words are part of the oval-shaped logo and surround a chicken laying eggs on straw. The white hen is on a light blue background surrounded by the words in white on a darker blue background. Surrounding all are arc-shaped designs in turquoise, red and the darker blue.
The words "37 % Concentrate" are placed in a box immediately below the logo. The words also can be read upside down at the very top of the apron bodice. Also above the logo are the words 100 Lbs. Net. Next comes a rectangular box stating "There are NO Farm Grown Grains, Milldust . Filler."
Red, turquoise, blue and green are used in the floral print vintage flour sack fabric that creates the apron sides. The apron is trimmed in turquoise. To adjust the length, simply place a knot in the neck tie where desired. Cold water wash and line dry are recommended to prevent fading and shrinking.
Keeping in mind it is vintage, please note there are few issues with the bag used for the apron including spots on the bodice area and a few small holes near the bottom that could develop into larger ones over time with frequent washings (see photos). Please consider these factors before purchase.
The apron bodice is 12 1/2 inches.
The waist is 30 inches.
The length is 36 inches from the bodice top center to the hemline.
The waist ties are each 28 inches.
This apron best fits sizes medium, large or extra large.
* Please keep in mind this apron was created from an authentic vintage cloth sack. Photos show the design and print darker than in actuality. While the apron is described as accurately as possible, due to the vintage quality there may be age marks not noted specifically. Also, finding some or many seeds or feed pieces caught in the fabric is quite common. The bags have been washed at least once and many seed/feed pieces have already been removed, but some may remain.
