Atlas Cement Vintage Cloth Sack Apron

Universal Atlas Cement is the company named on this vintage sack that has been upcycled into an apron.

The sack features the company logo showing a globe with North and South America. It reads:

The word Atlas also appears on each side of the company logo. All of the print and design are in blue, with the exception of a small stamp of the company logo in red. The original sack stitching lines appear at the apron bottom.

Cotton webbing was used for the neck strap and the waist ties. Cold water wash and line dry are recommended to prevent design fading and shrinking. Warm or hot water will fade or even remove the design and wording.

The apron does have a few issues, including general stains as are typical of this age of sack, as well as some darker spots here and there. One patch was made in the center of the apron as shown in photo 12. Two other patches were already in place when the sack was purchased and left as they seem to be well done. Please consider all of these factors before purchase.

The bodice width is 12 inches.
The waist is 25 1/2 inches.
The length is 27 inches from the top bodice center to the hemline.
The waist ties are each 36 inches. These are extra long, allowing the ties to be brought back to the front for some.
Please use measurements to determine size for either men or women. A guess on sizing might be extra small, small or medium for women, or small or medium for men.

Internet research shows there were several Atlas company sites around the nation, including Indiana, Pennsylvania and Minnesota. Most of the sites appear to have been purchased by other companies before or after the company closed.
