This great upcycled apron is from a vintage Pioneer seed sack. The beige apron features red, blue and dark yellow print and design. The lettering reads "Pioneer" in red; "Dependable Hybrids" in cursive blue lettering; "Hybrid Seed Corn" in yellow lettering on a red diagonal banner; "Pioneer Seed Corn" in red and white on a blue background over a yellow ear of corn.
Other features of the design include a hand pointing to instructions on opening the bag: "Unravel from this end. If bag is not sewn with blue and white thread it should be returned to us for inspection. This is for our customers' protection." The bag also features another of the company's bag designs, a cat in a barrel.
Part of the original stitching can still be seen on the back side of the apron at the hemline. The seams have been welted to help prevent raveling. There were a few holes in the bag which were patched on the back. The top of the apron also has a rust mark. This is an authentic vintage sack, and not a reproduction. Cold water wash and line dry are recommended to prevent further fading of the design.
The apron waist is 25 inches.
The length is 30 inches.
The ties are 28 inches.
This apron best fits sizes Large to Extra Large.
