Red, White and Black Decorative Pillow

Sorry, this item has sold.

Red and black combine on a white background to make this eye-popping retro pillow created from a vintage tea towel. The geometric and abstract design features a farm couple wearing black and white horizontal striped fabric accented with red shirts and sombreros. They are holding a vegetable-filled pail with red and white horizontal striped sides and black handles. The man holds a spade and the woman a rake. They stand in front of a red and white house with a black roof. Black trees are on each side of the house. The eye is drawn toward the house with two black lines simulating a path leading to it.

Directly above this design are two matching flower pots and two matching vegetable-filled buckets spaced equally apart in different sections. Outside of both areas are vegetables, including bell peppers, turnips and radishes, also in red and black. Each of these sections, as well as the first-described scene, are divided by three narrow black lines. These same designs are on each side of the pillow.

The edges feature a black picket fence. It is shown on three sides of the pillow. While the pillow does have the same design on each side, the fence is only shown on three sides because the original tea towel design features the fencing on each side and not in the middle. For example, the farm couple is shown in front of the fence on one side, but not on the other as shown in photos 3 and 4. Hope that makes sense -- if not, I can send additional photos.

This pillow is 16 inches square. A new pillow form with polyester filling is used for this pillow. The cover is sewn shut and cannot be removed.
