Part of designing my own aprons includes doing research about current fashion trends. For example, last spring I saw in stores girls' and womens' clothing repeated styles and colors of the 1940s, so I tried to feature those details in some of my aprons. One of those aprons was a pinafore apron and another white with black dots. Both have since sold, so my research was successful!

Recently I looked at some renowned designers' fall clothing lines to get ideas. Seems like anything goes, so guess I can follow suit! Really, though, I liked very few of their designs and they just did not seem like "real" people would wear them.

Actually, my goal for next year is to come up with more original designs. I'm not really sure what those designs will include, but I do want to continue drawing from classics of the past. The 1940s and 1950s were great for originality. I have had several requests for side-tie cobbler aprons and snap front smock aprons, so will try to accomplish making those styles. If you have an apron design you would like to see repeated, please let me know!
